Why UV Laser Prone To Power Attenuation?

The lasers on the market can generally be divided into gas lasers, solid state lasers and semiconductor lasers. According to the output wavelength, there are three kinds of lasers: 355nm ultraviolet, 532nm green light and 1064nm red light. Among them, 355nm ultraviolet laser is a kind of laser that usually uses crystal (solid) as the excitation material.

details

Compared with other types of lasers, UV lasers have shorter service life and earlier power attenuation time. The main reason: during the operation of the ultraviolet laser, the ultraviolet ray will ionize the air, and the laser crystal is an insulator. After ionization, the crystal is charged, and the dust particles in the air will be adsorbed on the crystal surface. Because ultraviolet radiation generates heat energy, it will burn and destroy the crystal surface, leading to the attenuation of output power.

part description

In order to suppress this process and prolong the service life, the Riselaser’s 355 series lasers adopt the following optimizations.

1. Double layer sealing structure is adopted, and the whole machine shell reaches IP65 protection level, isolating the interference of external moisture and dust particles;

2. The third generation air filtering unit is added to the whole machine to keep the air environment in the chamber dry and clean;

3. Temperature and humidity monitoring in the chamber. When the temperature exceeds the normal range, the equipment will automatically alarm to avoid crystal damage and power attenuation;

4. The crystal is electrically moved. It is impossible for the ultraviolet laser crystal to be lossless in use. After the single point loss is too high, move multiple points to work, and double the service life.
